Children's Services

Shiloh Pelvic Physio offers a wide variety of services to children ages 5-17 to empower them to overcome the shame and frustration of bladder trouble, bowel issues and pelvic pain.

Clinic Visits

Our physiotherapy clinic located in Ottawa is equipped to help educate families and help children overcome their struggles with bladder, bowel and pelvic health issues.

Home Visits

Need a home visit? We provide some home care on a case by case basis. This can be helpful when struggling with toilet training or daytime incontinence.

Video Calls

Whether you're too far away or just too busy, we provide convenient services online via Zoom to fit your schedule.

What kind of treatments do you provide?

We provide personalized coaching to parents to help their children in this journey. We also work directly with kids and teens to help them listen to their bodies and stop unwanted bladder and bowel leaks.

Our treatments are often done in partnership with one’s pediatrician. We desire to reduce stress for parents and help kids regain confidence in this sensitive area of their lives.

Diana is a wonderful physiotherapist, patient, gentle, attentive... both with children and parents. She gives good advice and is very reassuring. She is very educational and gets down to her patients' level to explain things clearly with lots of images that help them understand things and why we do things. She always makes sure that we have understood the instructions and is attentive to the emotions we may be feeling.

A physiotherapist of high professional quality. We recommend her 200%.

Anne-Lise Fruhinsholz

Bladder and bowel health have a significant impact on the quality of life of both kids and their families.

Let us help you and your child overcome urinary and bowel issues as well as pelvic pain.

What can you expect?

We begin with a thorough interview to see what factors are affecting your child’s health because body, mind and spirit are interconnected. In our assessment, we look at the child's:

  • Bladder and bowel routines
  • Body awareness
  • Diet and liquid intake
  • Overall development
  • Stress and emotional regulation

Internal exams are not part of this assessment. Pending the situation, the perineum (external genitalia) may benefit from examination, but this will not be on the first visit and only ever with both parent and child’s consent.
